World of Warcraft – Item Upgrading Item upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item to 700 and add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you bring them to the Kiln. Certain items are worth upgrading because of their distinctive stats. (For instance the perfect roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth it. Weapons Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats such as the chance to crit, attack damage, PvE and PvP damage. Weapons also have a flat bonus which increases their damage per second. In addition some weapons come with an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon are equipped on a unit. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon requires two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the weapon will continue to increase until it is required to use the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one. Upgrades to weapons can also reroll the stats of their base. While this is generally a good thing however, it could have negative consequences too. For items that are only used in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example) upgrading them could make them unusable unless you happen to have an extremely lucky roll. Upgrades can be made to armor items to boost their stats. This can increase the defense of a chest or helm as well as belts and gloves. These can boost their strength and agility. Armor also offers a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it may change its roll to a lower value. The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats that it will gain when upgraded, along with their respective values. This means that an upgrade from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon receiving 33% attack damage. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will be hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number. Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button in the item menu using the circling arrows. This will roll the item and alter its stats however, it will not reset the weapon's levels or connect to the status of your account. Armor A few armor upgrades can make the world of difference to your survival. Certain sets offer massive boosts to poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, which can make traversing tough areas a breeze. In general, the greater defense you have for your character, the greater health you will receive from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor. To upgrade your armor, go to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four fountains in all each of which requires you to complete a special side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed your main quest and the corresponding fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu. The amount of materials needed to upgrade each piece of armor is different. In general, you're looking at anywhere between three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, then anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent upgrade. For example the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep up with a decent-sized group of enemies in the majority of cold climates, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to withstand the full-on assault with a handful of friends. It's important to note that armor cannot be upgraded in the same way as weapons, so you'll want to work on enhancing it to increase physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power if you're Mage. It's also a good idea to save your armor upgrades for armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you wear for the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask. You can also gain advantages to your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades to the weapon that you'll use to win the game. For example, the Longsword or Battleaxe. But it's useful to have a few upgrades to the chest armor and helmets to allow you to sneak around some monsters. Potions Potions are liquid substances that, when consumed, give the player an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are five types of potions that have different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to enhance their level of effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust. Upgrades to potion require a certain amount XP. This can be obtained by crafting them on a crafting table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades will vary based on the type of potion you want to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level and rarity. To upgrade a potions simply right-click on it in your inventory. Then select “Upgrade” from the menu. item upgrading will open a GUI in which you can select the potions you wish to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll produce when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have. Once a poton is upgraded in quality, it will not deteriorate in the event that you use it again or break the bottle in which it is stored. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking on it in your inventory. There were a few updates to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. Splash potions for instance have now a duration of zero, not the 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display for the item. The potion table can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players in Survival and Bedrock. Contrary to Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be combined in cauldrons. The same applies to using a potion within the cauldron that is filled. This will drain the potion and refill the bottle. Finally, there are simmering potions made with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone is also added to lingering potions to enhance their effect. The table of potions is laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as the potion of leaping and the decomposition potion, as well as turtle master potions. upgrade item is a tiny and cheap ornament or piece of jewelry. When the old Trinkets are no longer usable they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase both their power and value with time. They can be traded between players and are a viable alternative to gold. Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondary items and finally, other items of gear will not be replaced in the near future (for example, a ring or cloak). When choosing the items to upgrade, players must also take into account the class's preferred stats. For instance If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers it is recommended that they upgrade their chest, helm shoulders, belt, and chest. When they are no longer useful, trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket comes with an additional bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade will destroy the old trinket, unless it is salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still less expensive than buying an entirely new trinket.
